Kurt Schirado

Hometown: Bismarck, North Dakota

Kurt is a life long native of Bismarck, North Dakota and grew up fishing and hunting in and around the Missouri River area. Kurt’s passion for the outdoors has him involved with numerous related functions and traveling to other areas of the country just to encounter a new outdoor experience. Whether it’s jigging for walleyes on the Missouri River, trolling for Lake Trout in Canada, bow hunting elk in Idaho or hunting whitetails in North Dakota; he strives for excellence and always tries to learn from his experiences.

At the age of fifteen Kurt enrolled in local Tae Kwon Do classes and by the age of nineteen he honorably received his 1st degree black belt. By age twenty, along with his two brothers, they owned and operated their own Martial Arts studio. Over the next thirteen years Kurt instructed classes, achieved his 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and to this day he continues to make physical fitness a part of his every day life.

Since 1998 he has actively taken footsteps towards a career in the outdoors bringing him to present day. Kurt is an active Pro Staff member for Hoyt, Blacks Creek and Lowrance Electronics and has been featured in a full page add for Realtree Outdoors which has been highlighted in such magazines as; In-fisherman, Walleye Insider, and Deer & Deer Hunting. Other magazines such as Midwest Outdoors and Dakota Outdoors have also featured outdoor related articles.

Kurt is presently the Rental/Warehouse manager with Prairie Rose Construction Supply Inc. in Bismarck, ND. They supply contractors with almost everything you can think of to with concrete… except the concrete. They have locations in Bismarck, Fargo, Grand Forks and now in Williston.

In the off season Kurt enjoys traveling the upper Midwest to sport shows doing public speaking seminars to other outdoor enthusiasts interested in learning more about both hunting and fishing. Most of Kurt’s seminars focus on big game hunting, archery tactics and techniques use to find and catch those finicky walleyes.
